Araria. A meeting of the District Agriculture Task Force was held on Tuesday at the Parman Auditorium of the Araria Collectorate, chaired by District Magistrate Vinod Duhan. The meeting thoroughly reviewed the progress of various schemes of agriculture and allied departments. The District Magistrate instructed officials to accelerate work in line with the set targets.

Key schemes under Kharif 2026-27, including crop coverage, seed distribution, farmer registry, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM Kisan), Kisan Credit Card (KCC), crop residue management, agricultural mechanization, ATMA, horticulture, and soil health cards, were reviewed point by point. The DM specifically emphasized the speedy disposal of pending cases related to farmer registry and PM Kisan to ensure timely benefits for eligible farmers.

During the review of Kisan Credit Card (KCC), banks and concerned officials were directed to expedite loan disbursement by promptly settling pending loan applications. The status of the Chief Minister's Private Tubewell Scheme, other irrigation projects, and agricultural electricity connections was also reviewed to strengthen the irrigation system. Emphasis was also placed on ensuring uninterrupted power supply so that farmers do not face any problems with irrigation.

In the review of the Animal Husbandry Department, the progress of animal vaccination, ear tagging, and artificial insemination programs was discussed. The District Animal Husbandry Officer was instructed to intensify the vaccination campaign and provide better medical facilities to livestock farmers. The meeting was attended by the District Agriculture Officer, District Animal Husbandry Officer, District Fisheries Officer, District Dairy Development Officer, District Horticulture Officer, District Lead Bank Manager, along with officials from concerned departments and all Block Agriculture Officers.
