Araria Nagar Thana police, acting on a tip-off, conducted a major operation and arrested four individuals with 20 grams of smack from Om Nagar Ward No. 8 in the city. Another accused managed to escape from the scene, and police are continuously raiding to apprehend him.

According to the police, the arrested accused have been identified as Mithu Kumar Mishra alias Thalanand Kumar, Shivam Jha, and Jitendra Kumar Jha. All three are residents of Palasimani village under the Sonamani Godam police station area in Araria district. The fourth accused is Abhishek Kumar alias Anku, a resident of Om Nagar Ward No. 8. The escaped accused has been identified as Shahadat Alam, a resident of Istemaal Tola Ward No. 4.

Police received confidential information that three youths on a red motorcycle were going to Forbesganj via Om Nagar with smack from Zero Mile. Acting on this, a police team set up a blockade and started checking vehicles near the Om Nagar Bazar Samiti alley. Shortly after, three youths on a red bike arrived. Seeing the police, they tried to turn back and escape, but the police surrounded and caught all three.

During the search, 20 grams of smack-like substance, three 100-rupee notes, and a mobile phone were recovered from Mithu Kumar Mishra. A mobile phone was also found with Jitendra Kumar Jha. During interrogation, the accused revealed that the recovered smack was purchased from Shahadat Alam of Zero Mile in collaboration with Abhishek Kumar alias Anku, a resident of Om Nagar. Subsequently, the police arrested Abhishek Kumar from his home. Police also raided Shahadat Alam's house in Istema Tola for his arrest, but he had already fled. The police are currently investigating the entire matter and are continuously raiding to arrest the absconding accused.
