Several areas in Jokihat and Raniganj blocks of Araria district will experience power outages on Sunday, September 6. The electricity department has decided to temporarily shut down various 11 KV feeders for scheduled line maintenance, tree pruning, and other essential works. The department has urged consumers for their cooperation.

In the Jokihat area, the 11 KV Chakali feeder, originating from the Jokihat power sub-station, will be shut down from 8 AM to 10 AM on Sunday. Assistant Electrical Engineer Jikesh Kumar stated that during this period, line maintenance and tree pruning will be carried out on the feeder. Consequently, consumers connected to this feeder will experience a power cut for approximately two hours.

Similarly, power supply will also be affected in Raniganj block on Sunday. Assistant Electrical Engineer Nishant Kumar informed consumers that maintenance work will be conducted on the 11 KV Bausi feeder and the 11 KV Parmanandpur feeder. As a result, areas connected to these two feeders will face a power shutdown from 9 AM to 1 PM.

According to the electricity department, power supply from the affected feeders will be restored to normal after the maintenance work is completed within the stipulated time. However, due to the nature of the work and technical reasons, there might be slight changes in the restoration time. The department has appealed to consumers to plan their daily and essential tasks considering the power outage period. They have also advised against using electrical appliances during the shutdown and to operate them cautiously once the supply resumes. The purpose of these maintenance and tree pruning activities is to ensure the safe and proper functioning of power lines, thereby providing better electricity supply to consumers in the future.
