A tragic road accident in Araria district has claimed the life of one woman and left another seriously injured. The collision occurred late in the evening on the Araria-Raniganj main road near Rampur Kodarkatti village. The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Khushboo Devi, a resident of Ward No. 12, Jogbani Nagar Panchayat. The injured woman, 32-year-old Soni Devi, has been admitted to Sadar Hospital, Araria, for treatment.

According to reports, Khushboo Devi and Soni Devi were returning to Jogbani from a puja ceremony in Raniganj along with their father-in-law. They were traveling in a 'jugaad' vehicle. Near Rampur Kodarkatti village, the jugaad vehicle collided head-on with a speeding CNG auto coming from the opposite direction. The impact was so severe that Khushboo Devi died on the spot. Her sister-in-law, Soni Devi, sustained serious injuries, while their father-in-law suffered minor injuries.

Local residents and passersby rushed the injured to Sadar Hospital, Araria, where doctors declared Khushboo Devi dead. Soni Devi's condition remains critical, and she is undergoing treatment. Upon receiving information, local police arrived at the scene, took custody of the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. The police have seized both accident-involved vehicles, though the drivers managed to flee the scene. An investigation is underway, and efforts are on to apprehend the absconding drivers. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over Jogbani and the surrounding areas.
