Araria: Encroachments to be Removed from Kali Mandir Chowk in Two Days Ahead of Kali Puja
Preparations are in full swing for Kali Puja at the Maa Khargeshwari Mahakali Temple in Araria. Anticipating a large influx of devotees, the district administration has also initiated its arrangements. On Tuesday, a team comprising sub-divisional administration and Nagar Parishad officials conducted a thorough inspection of the temple premises, Kali Mandir Chowk, and surrounding areas.
During the inspection, Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Shwetam Dixit, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sushil Kumar, the Executive Officer of Nagar Parishad, and other officials and staff were present. The officials specifically assessed encroachments made by shopkeepers on Kali Mandir Chowk and adjacent roads. They instructed shopkeepers to remove their shops and goods to clear the area.
Officials stated that a significant number of devotees are expected during Kali Puja, and ensuring their hassle-free movement is a top priority for the administration. Therefore, removing encroachments from Kali Mandir Chowk and nearby routes is crucial. The administration has urged shopkeepers to remove encroachments voluntarily. A warning has also been issued that if encroachments are not cleared within two days, police and Nagar Parishad teams will arrive on-site and remove them forcefully.
SDO Shwetam Dixit clarified that the administration and Nagar Parishad have identified encroached areas and instructed shopkeepers to vacate them. He reiterated that if shopkeepers do not remove encroachments themselves, the administration will take action according to regulations. This step by the administration aims to facilitate devotees, ensure smooth traffic flow, and manage crowds effectively.
