Araria MP Pradeep Kumar Singh met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in New Delhi to discuss the expansion of rail facilities, acceleration of pending projects, and resolution of passenger issues across the Seemanchal region, including Araria. The MP also submitted a letter detailing his various demands.

Singh urged for the swift administrative approval of the proposed washing pit line and coach maintenance project at Jogbani and Forbesganj. He highlighted that delays in this project hinder the operation of new trains, the extension of existing ones, and their regular maintenance. The proposal is currently under consideration at the EDME (Projects) level of the Railway Board. He also requested an acceleration of the Araria-Supaul new railway line project, seeking prompt resolution of issues related to land acquisition, NOCs from various departments, power transmission lines, soil availability, and bridge construction.

Demands also included ensuring the regular operation of the Jogbani-Kolkata Express (13159/13160), which currently runs on limited days, causing inconvenience to passengers. He requested daily service and consideration for alternative routes if needed. Additionally, with the construction of Araria Amrit Bharat Station nearing completion, the MP called for its early formal inauguration and full operation. He also urged for the conversion of the Jogbani-Katihar DEMU train into MEMU and the introduction of additional passenger/MEMU trains based on passenger numbers. For the convenience of religious travelers, an extension of the Raghopur-Deoghar Sawan Special train to Narpatganj or Forbesganj was also requested.

Furthermore, the MP requested the advancement of the land survey for a new 17-kilometer railway line from Lakshmipur via Pothia to Forbesganj. Pradeep Kumar Singh emphasized that rail development in Araria and Seemanchal is crucial not just for passenger convenience but also for the social, economic, and industrial growth of the region. The Railway Minister assured the MP that all issues raised would be taken seriously and necessary action would be taken.
