In a significant move under the social security pension scheme, Araria district has successfully conducted 'Pension Utsav'. As part of this initiative, a substantial sum of ₹40.79 crore has been directly transferred to the bank accounts of over 2.72 lakh beneficiaries across the district. The primary objective of this initiative is to provide financial assistance to eligible individuals covered under various social security pension schemes, including old age pension, widow pension, disability pension, and other related programs.

The funds were directly deposited into the Jan Dhan accounts of the beneficiaries, effectively eliminating intermediaries and ensuring transparency in the process. The district administration had made extensive preparations to facilitate the smooth execution of this transfer. The identification of beneficiaries and the linking of their bank accounts with Aadhaar were completed beforehand, ensuring error-free payments.

'Pension Utsav' is an event that underscores the government's commitment to empowering the vulnerable and underprivileged sections of society. It not only provides economic security to beneficiaries but also helps them lead a dignified life. This initiative is expected to directly benefit millions of people in both rural and urban areas of Araria district.

The District Magistrate stated that the government is continuously striving to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries receive pension benefits on time and without any hindrance. He further added that such 'Utsavs' will continue to be organized in the future to ensure that no eligible person is deprived of this important scheme.
