Araria Police in Bihar has achieved a significant breakthrough by apprehending the mastermind behind the Noida-Guwahati mobile robbery case from Haryana. In a major operation, the police recovered a total of 620 mobile phones, estimated to be worth ₹2 crore, along with ₹7 lakh in cash.

Araria Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashok Kumar Singh stated that this operation has exposed a large criminal syndicate involved in the theft and smuggling of mobile phones between the Delhi-NCR region and Northeast India. Acting on a tip-off, a special team was formed. This team utilized technical surveillance and intelligence to trace the mastermind, who was subsequently arrested during a raid in Haryana.

Intensive interrogation of the arrested accused is underway, with expectations of uncovering crucial information regarding other members of this gang and their network. Police believe that this syndicate not only carried out mobile robberies but also earned substantial profits by selling the stolen phones across various states. The recovered mobile phones include various brands, many of which are high-end smartphones.

SP Singh further added that Araria Police is coordinating with police forces from different states to dismantle the entire chain of this gang. This arrest highlights the Bihar Police's capability in tackling inter-state crimes. All officers and personnel involved in the police team have been commended for their outstanding work. This action is expected to lead to a reduction in mobile theft and robbery cases.
