Araria Police have achieved a significant breakthrough by apprehending the alleged mastermind of a large-scale mobile phone theft racket from Haryana. In a major operation, authorities recovered 620 stolen mobile phones valued at approximately ₹2 crore, along with ₹7 lakh in cash. According to the police, this organized gang was involved in stealing mobile phones from major cities like Noida and Guwahati and subsequently selling them across various states, including Bihar.

The Araria Superintendent of Police stated that they had been receiving intelligence regarding the gang's activities for an extended period. A special team was constituted, which, utilizing technical surveillance and confidential information, launched an investigation. It was discovered that the mastermind was operating the entire illicit network from Haryana. A police team conducted a raid in Haryana, leading to the arrest of the prime accused.

During interrogation, the arrested individual confessed to his involvement in several major mobile theft incidents in Noida and Guwahati. He revealed that the stolen phones were transported to Bihar through various channels and then sold at discounted prices. The 620 recovered mobile phones include smartphones of various brands, with an estimated market value of around ₹2 crore. Additionally, ₹7 lakh in cash, believed to be proceeds from the sale of the stolen phones, was also seized from the gang.

Police officials highlighted that this operation is a major blow to an international mobile theft racket. Further investigations are underway to identify and apprehend other members of the gang. The Superintendent of Police urged the public to report any suspicious individuals or mobile phone dealers to the police immediately to curb such crimes. This success has garnered praise for the operational efficiency and diligence of the Araria Police.
