A shocking incident unfolded on Thursday morning in Raniganj, Araria district, when the body of a fireman was discovered on the roadside near YNP Degree College, just one kilometer from the police station. Local residents, out for a morning stroll, spotted the body, leading to a large crowd gathering at the scene. Upon receiving information from villagers, the police arrived and took possession of the body, initiating an investigation.

The deceased has been identified as Pradeep Kumar (38), son of Upendra Yadav, a resident of Srichandrapur village under Sahebpur Kamal police station in Begusarai district. Pradeep Kumar was serving as a fireman in the fire department located within the Raniganj police station premises. The news of the untimely demise of a disciplined colleague sent a wave of grief through the department and among his fellow workers.

Upon learning of the incident, Raniganj Station House Officer Dharmendra Kumar, along with Sub-Inspectors Abhishek Kumar and Rakesh Kumar, immediately reached the spot with police forces. Shortly thereafter, Araria SDPO Sushil Kumar also arrived at the scene and meticulously inspected the body and the surrounding area. Road marks and other forensic points were recorded.

Araria SDPO Sushil Kumar stated that preliminary investigations suggest it is a case of a road accident. It is presumed that the tragic accident occurred in the early hours when Pradeep was hit by an unknown speeding vehicle. However, he clarified that the actual and precise cause of death would only be revealed after the post-mortem report. Police are scrutinizing CCTV footage from the vicinity of the incident to identify vehicles that passed through at the time. The police are thoroughly investigating the matter from all angles.
