In a tragic road accident in the Raniganj police station area of Araria district on Wednesday, two bike riders died after being hit by an unknown vehicle. Among the deceased was a 12-year-old child. The two were returning from a party when a speeding unidentified vehicle collided with their bike, causing severe injuries that led to their deaths on the spot.

The deceased have been identified as 12-year-old Manish Kumar, son of Madan Mehta, resident of Kala Balua, Shivnagar Pranpatti, Nagar Purnia, and 38-year-old Subodh Mehta, son of late Ramprit Mehta, resident of Naya Nagar, Srinagar, Purnia. The collision was so severe that both bike riders fell onto the road, resulting in their demise.

Following the accident, a crowd of local residents gathered at the scene and immediately informed the Raniganj police. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the spot, took possession of both bodies, and initiated legal procedures. The police also inspected the accident site. However, the vehicle involved in the collision and its driver have not yet been identified. The police are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas and gathering information from local residents. Authorities state that efforts are underway to identify the vehicle and its driver soon. The news of this accident has cast a pall of grief over both families, with relatives inconsolable.
