अरवल के सिविल सर्जन के साथ दुर्व्यवहार और मारपीट की घटना के विरोध में बुधवार को अररिया सदर अस्पताल में ओपीडी सेवाएं पूरी तरह बंद रहीं। बिहार स्वास्थ्य सेवा संघ (भाषा) के आह्वान पर राज्यभर के सरकारी अस्पतालों में एक दिवसीय ओपीडी बहिष्कार किया गया था। ओपीडी सेवा बंद रहने से दूर-दराज से इलाज कराने पहुंचे मरीजों और उनके परिजनों को भारी परेशानी का सामना करना पड़ा। हालांकि, अस्पताल प्रशासन ने आपातकालीन सेवाएं सामान्य दिनों की तरह संचालित कीं।
यह विरोध प्रदर्शन अरवल के सिविल सर्जन के साथ हुई मारपीट की घटना के खिलाफ था। 'भाषा' ने डॉक्टरों की सुरक्षा और सम्मान सुनिश्चित करने की मांग को लेकर यह कदम उठाया। राज्यभर के चिकित्सकों ने इस घटना की निंदा करते हुए दोषियों के खिलाफ कड़ी कार्रवाई की मांग की है। सदर प्रखंड के बोची गांव निवासी मोहम्मद इजराफिल जैसे कई मरीज सुबह 10 बजे अस्पताल पहुंचे थे, लेकिन दोपहर 2 बजे तक उन्हें डॉक्टरों से परामर्श नहीं मिल सका। उन्हें बिना इलाज कराए वापस लौटना पड़ा, जिससे काफी परेशानी हुई।
सदर अस्पताल के चिकित्सक डॉ. प्रदीप कुमार ने बताया कि 'भाषा' के आह्वान पर पूरे राज्य के सरकारी अस्पतालों में एक दिन के लिए ओपीडी सेवाएं स्थगित की गई हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि अरवल जिले के सिविल सर्जन के साथ हुए दुर्व्यवहार और मारपीट की घटना के विरोध में चिकित्सकों ने यह कदम उठाया है। डॉ. कुमार ने डॉक्टरों की सुरक्षा और सम्मान सुनिश्चित करने की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया। ओपीडी सेवा बंद रहने के कारण अस्पताल परिसर में मरीजों की भीड़ तो रही, लेकिन अधिकांश लोगों को बिना इलाज के ही लौटना पड़ा। चिकित्सकों ने स्पष्ट किया कि यह विरोध केवल एक दिन के लिए था और आवश्यक आपातकालीन सेवाएं पूरी तरह सुचारु रखी गई थीं। मरीजों को अब उम्मीद है कि गुरुवार से ओपीडी सेवाएं फिर से सामान्य रूप से शुरू हो जाएंगी।

This one-day OPD boycott in government hospitals across the state was called by the Bihar Health Services Association (BHSA). The closure of OPD services caused significant inconvenience to patients and their families who had come from far-flung areas for treatment. However, the hospital administration continued to operate emergency services as usual.
The protest was against the incident of assault on the Civil Surgeon of Arwal. BHSA took this step demanding the safety and respect of doctors. Doctors across the state condemned the incident and demanded strict action against the culprits. Many patients, like Mohammad Izrafil, a resident of Bochi village in Sadar block, reached the hospital around 10 AM but could not consult doctors until 2 PM. They had to return without treatment, causing considerable distress.
Dr. Pradeep Kumar, a physician at Sadar Hospital, stated that OPD services were suspended for one day in all government hospitals across the state at the behest of BHSA. He emphasized the need to ensure the safety and respect of doctors. Despite the crowd of patients in the hospital premises due to the closure of OPD services, most had to return without treatment. Doctors clarified that this protest was only for one day, and essential emergency services were fully operational. Patients now hope that OPD services will resume normally from Thursday.
