Food Baskets Distributed to TB Patients in Araria to Boost Nutrition and Recovery
More than a dozen TB patients in Araria Sadar Hospital received food baskets as part of the TB-Free India Campaign. This initiative aims to provide better nutrition and ensure the speedy recovery of TB patients. During the program, patients were provided with nutritious food along with medication and encouraged to adhere to their regular treatment.
Civil Surgeon Dr. K. K. Kashyap, Hospital Manager Vikas Anand, District Program Manager Santosh Kumar, and Dr. Akash Rai, along with several doctors and health workers, were present at the event. They all advised patients to take their medicines on time and consume a balanced, protein-rich diet. Civil Surgeon Dr. Kashyap stated that the central government is running the TB-Free India Campaign across the country, with the goal of eradicating this serious disease. He emphasized that complete treatment of TB is not possible with medication alone. Patients also need to consume adequate amounts of protein and nutritious food along with medicines to boost their immunity and recover quickly.
Dr. Kashyap highlighted that if TB patients take their medicines regularly and follow doctors' advice regarding nutritious food, the disease can be fully controlled. The government also provides nutritional support to patients from time to time to ensure that economically weaker patients do not face difficulties during treatment. During the program, health officials urged patients to undergo regular check-ups, not to discontinue medication midway, and to contact the hospital immediately if they experience any health-related issues. Patients who received the food baskets expressed their gratitude to the health department and the government for this initiative. Officials stated that the goal of a TB-Free India can only be successfully achieved through public participation, awareness, timely treatment, and better nutrition.
