Continuous rains and strong winds associated with Cyclone Arnab have severely damaged paddy crops in the Nauhatta block of Rohtas district over the last three days, dashing farmers' hopes. Earlier, dozens of farmers in several villages had already lost their paddy crops due to floods in the Sone and Kaimur rivers. Now, the remaining crops have also been ruined by the storm and incessant rainfall.

Local social worker Basant Kumar, former मुखिया Anand Prakash Gupta, former प्रमुख Ravindra Ram, BDC Biru Oraon, and farmers Vijay Kumar Pathak, Vinay Pathak, Vijay Pratap Singh, Vishal Singh, and Deputy प्रमुख Ravindra Ram stated on Saturday that the continuous rain and strong winds are completely destroying the paddy crops. Farmers expressed that they cultivate their land by taking loans and work hard to prepare their crops. They rely on the paddy yield to support their families and repay their debts, but this natural disaster has shattered all their hopes. Farmers are now appealing to the government for compensation to help them recover from this difficult period.
