The auspicious festival of Ashadha Gupt Navratri has commenced today. On this occasion, devotees across India, including Bihar, have performed Kalash Sthapana (pot installation) with immense faith and devotion, worshipping Maa Shailputri, the first form among the nine manifestations of Maa Durga. Gupt Navratri is particularly significant for tantric practices and esoteric knowledge, but common devotees also worship Maa Durga for the fulfillment of their wishes, happiness, and prosperity.

According to the Hindu calendar, Gupt Navratri begins on the Pratipada Tithi (first day) of the bright fortnight of the Ashadha month. During this period, the nine forms of Maa Durga are worshipped, including Maa Shailputri, Maa Brahmacharini, Maa Chandraghanta, Maa Kushmanda, Maa Skandamata, Maa Katyayani, Maa Kalaratri, Maa Mahagauri, and Maa Siddhidatri. Devotees establish a sacred pot (kalash) in their homes with proper rituals and light an eternal flame (akhand jyoti).

With the beginning of the puja, special rituals are also being organized in temples. Since morning, devotees have been flocking to temples to seek blessings from Maa Durga. Religious programs such as recitation of Durga Saptashati, chanting of mantras, and havans (fire rituals) are being conducted. It is believed that spiritual practices and worship performed during Gupt Navratri yield quick results and remove all obstacles. This festival will continue for nine days, with different forms of the Mother Goddess being worshipped each day.
