The strike by workers at the Bihar State Food Corporation (SFC) godown complex, located at Bachhwara block headquarters in Begusarai district, continued for the third consecutive day on Wednesday. Under the banner of the All Food and Allied Workers' Union (AITUC), laborers are protesting for various demands, including the payment of pending arrears, provident fund (PF) contributions, and four months' outstanding wages. The strike has severely affected the operations of the godown.

Union members stated that the High Court had ordered the payment of pending arrears from 2010 and 2012, but this order has not yet been complied with. Furthermore, arrears from 2022 to 2026 are also pending. The workers allege that despite working regularly, their PF is not deposited, and they have not received their salaries for the past four months. They also reported being threatened with termination when they raise their demands.

Protesting laborers mentioned that they have approached relevant offices multiple times to resolve their issues, but no concrete action has been taken on their demands, leading to widespread discontent. The workers have warned that if their pending demands are not resolved soon, they will gherao the Begusarai district headquarters and intensify their agitation. A large number of workers, including Sanoj Kumar Yadav, Phuchhar Paswan, Ganesh Mahto, Deepak Kumar, Manoj Paswan, Bhola Paswan, Vishwanath Paswan, Tuntun Paswan, Bindu Rai, and Ritesh Kumar, participated in the protest.
