A National Lok Adalat was organized at the Bagaha Civil Court Complex on Saturday. Presiding over the event, District Legal Services Authority In-charge Chairman and Principal District Sessions Judge in-charge, Asitab Kumar, stated that the National Lok Adalat serves as an effective platform for fostering social harmony. Principal Judge of the Family Court, Milan Kumar, highlighted that minor disputes often escalate into lawsuits, and the Lok Adalat aims to resolve animosity between parties and promote brotherhood.

He emphasized the numerous benefits of resolving cases through Lok Adalat, including the settlement of disputes without court fees, saving both time and money. Out of 35 cases presented by the Electricity Supply Division, Bagaha, 27 were immediately resolved. Following the settlements, the electricity department received a total of Rs 1.15 lakh in bill payments.

Furthermore, Lok Adalats were also held at Vipin School premises and Bagaha Sub-divisional complex over the past 90 days to settle various fines related to the transport department. DTO Amit Raj reported that over a thousand cases, including those from the police and transport departments, have been resolved to date. During this period, the transport department collected fines amounting to Rs 9.48 lakh, and the police department collected Rs 7 lakh.

The National Lok Adalat at the Bagaha Civil Court Complex was inaugurated by Additional Sessions Judge-I and Sub-divisional Legal Services Committee Chairman, Manish Kumar Dwivedi. Bagaha SP Rajesh Kumar, SDM Chandni Kumari, ADJ IV Manvendra Mishra, and other judicial and administrative officials were present. The Lok Adalat heard various amicable cases, including bank loans, compoundable criminal cases, cheque bounce, traffic challans, telecom, electricity-water, forest department, weights and measures, certificate cases, labor, mines and minerals, environmental issues, and matrimonial disputes.
