Major administrative and financial irregularities have been reported at Balrampur College in Katihar district, involving teacher appointments, academic qualifications, distribution of government grants, and utilization of the college's internal funds. Kishan Lal Agrawal, a donor member of the college's governing body, submitted a detailed application to Purnia University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Vivekanand Singh on October 22, demanding an independent, impartial, and document-based high-level inquiry into the matter.

The complaint letter has also been forwarded to the Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor, the Secretary and Director of Bihar Government's Higher Education Department, and the Sub-Divisional Officer of Barsoi for necessary action. It seeks verification of the selection process for teaching and non-teaching staff, the validity of advertisements, appointments against sanctioned posts, and original records of approvals received from the concerned university. Agrawal alleges serious irregularities in appointments and fund usage, raising questions about the college's academic environment and financial transparency.
