Residents of Dauna village in Banka district are facing severe hardships due to the incomplete construction of a vital road. The road project, left unfinished, has led to significant waterlogging issues, making daily commute extremely difficult for villagers. Locals report that the construction has been stalled for several months, resulting in even light rainfall causing the entire stretch to become inundated.

This persistent waterlogging disproportionately affects students and patients. School-going children are forced to wade through knee-deep water, often getting their clothes and books soaked. Similarly, transporting patients to hospitals in emergencies becomes a major challenge, as ambulances and other vehicles cannot navigate the waterlogged path. This situation has become a part of daily life for the villagers, who are desperate for a permanent solution.

Local residents have repeatedly appealed to the administration and the concerned department to complete the road construction, but no concrete action has been taken so far. Villagers state that the road construction began with much fanfare but was abandoned after only a short stretch was completed. This negligence is now costing the entire village dearly.

Beyond hindering commutation, the waterlogging has also become a breeding ground for mosquitoes, increasing the risk of infectious diseases. Villagers have once again urged the district administration to address this issue and expedite the completion of the Dauna village road to alleviate their suffering.
