A 12-year-old student, Piyush Kumar, was seriously injured in a road accident on Saturday in the Katoria police station area of Banka district. The incident occurred near Kathaun on the Katoria-Banka Road when a speeding motorcycle collided with Piyush, who was returning home from school on his bicycle.

Piyush sustained severe injuries in the accident, while the motorcyclist, Neeraj Kumar, suffered minor injuries. Both were admitted to the Community Health Center in Katoria. After initial treatment, Dr. Shailjanand Shukla referred Piyush to Deoghar for better medical care due to his critical condition, where he remains in serious condition.

Piyush Kumar is the son of Prakash Yadav, a resident of Kathaun. The motorcyclist, Neeraj Kumar, is identified as the son of Lalo Yadav from Telangwa village. According to local resident Neeraj Kumar, Piyush was returning home from school in Radhanagar with his friends. As he turned his bicycle near his home, a speeding motorcycle coming from Radhanagar towards Katoria collided with him. The motorcyclist, Neeraj Kumar Yadav, stated that he was returning home from Tulsivaran when the cyclist suddenly turned near Kathaun, causing his bike to lose balance and crash into the student. No complaint had been filed at the police station regarding the incident as of Saturday evening.
