In a significant push towards public health, Banka District Magistrate Anshul Kumar has announced a 'mission mode' campaign to eradicate Tuberculosis (TB) from the district. The DM explicitly stated that any negligence in this crucial health initiative would not be tolerated, and strict action would be taken against those found defaulting. These directives were issued during a District Health Committee meeting held on Friday at the Collectorate Auditorium, where the DM thoroughly reviewed the TB eradication program.

During the meeting, the District Magistrate emphasized accelerating the identification, testing, and treatment processes for TB patients. He instructed health workers to conduct door-to-door screenings of potential patients to ensure that no one is missed. Specifically, he directed the effective implementation of the 'Nikshay Poshan Yojana,' a scheme providing nutritional support to TB patients, to ensure they receive adequate nutrition during their treatment.

The DM also called for increased awareness about TB through various mediums, including community meetings, promotional materials, and the collaboration of local volunteers. He highlighted that TB is a serious but curable disease, and timely diagnosis and treatment can lead to complete recovery. He directed all concerned departments and health officials to work with full coordination and dedication in this campaign to make Banka district TB-free as soon as possible. This initiative aims to improve the lives of patients and enhance the overall health indicators of the district.
