A violent clash erupted during a land measurement exercise in Bariarpur block of Munger district, leaving eight people, including the Circle Officer (CO), seriously injured. The incident has created a tense atmosphere in the area. Following the clash, police have registered an FIR against 14 individuals and initiated an investigation.

According to reports, a long-standing land dispute between two parties in a village under Bariarpur police station area was being resolved. The Circle Officer, along with his team, had arrived at the spot to measure the land and settle the dispute. While the measurement process was underway, members of both parties engaged in a heated argument that quickly escalated into a violent confrontation. People started attacking each other with sticks, rods, and sharp weapons.

In this violent skirmish, besides the Circle Officer, a revenue clerk, a land surveyor (amin), and some local villagers were also injured. The injured were immediately rushed to a local hospital for treatment. The condition of some of the injured is reported to be serious, and they may be referred to Munger Sadar Hospital for advanced medical care.

Upon receiving information about the incident, local police forces arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control. Police stated that 14 individuals from both sides have been named in the case, and an FIR has been registered against them under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. Police are conducting raids to apprehend the accused. Additional police forces have been deployed in the area to maintain peace and order. The local administration has appealed to the public to maintain calm and not pay heed to any rumors.
