Overloaded vehicles continue to operate at the Bathnaha rake point in Forbesganj, Araria district, causing significant problems for local residents and shopkeepers. These vehicles, laden with excessive gravel, sand, and cement, not only put extra strain on the roads but also increase the risk of accidents.

The lack of adherence to standards at the rake point has led to severe pollution in the surrounding areas. Due to insufficient fencing, dust from gravel and sand is carried by the wind to roadside shops and pedestrians. This dust settles on food items in shops, troubling both shopkeepers and customers. Local residents state that there isn't even a board displaying the standards at the rake point. This is particularly concerning as government FCI goods are also loaded from this very point.

Residents have demanded effective action against overloading and pollution, along with an inspection of the rake point's standards. District Transport Officer (DTO) Sanjeev Kumar stated that while they are issuing challans, drivers are not complying. He assured that he would address the issue again today. However, locals question why stricter enforcement by the DTO hasn't been implemented, arguing that the high cost of overloading challans should deter such practices.
