The Block Development Officer (BDO) recently conducted a surprise inspection of various government schemes and projects on a 'Zero Office Day'. During this inspection, the BDO meticulously reviewed the progress of works related to the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) and the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Significant directives were issued to the concerned officials and staff for the effective implementation of these schemes.

During the inspection, the BDO emphasized the status of installments received by beneficiaries under the housing scheme, the quality of construction, and timely completion of work. Clear instructions were given to expedite the completion of incomplete houses to ensure eligible beneficiaries receive their permanent homes, warning that any negligence or delay would not be tolerated.

Reviewing sanitation works, the BDO assessed the status of toilet construction in villages, solid and liquid waste management, and sanitation awareness programs. Officials were directed to ensure that every household has and uses a toilet. Emphasis was also placed on regularly conducting cleanliness drives and strengthening waste management systems to make villages clean and beautiful.

The BDO stated that the objective of 'Zero Office Day' is to ensure that officers and employees assess the progress of schemes at the grassroots level and understand people's problems, rather than just handling files in their offices. The BDO warned of strict action against any irregularities or corruption found in the implementation of schemes and called upon all concerned departments to coordinate and make the schemes successful.
