A moving motorcycle suddenly caught fire on NH-31 in Begusarai on Monday night. The incident occurred in the Nagar police station area, near the fruit market at Traffic Chowk, where the bike was completely engulfed in flames. Fortunately, the couple and their child riding the motorcycle narrowly escaped unhurt.

Vijay Kumar, a resident of Maniyappa village, was returning home with his wife and child after shopping in Begusarai market. As they approached the fruit market near Traffic Chowk, they noticed thick smoke emanating from the bike's engine. Vijay, showing great presence of mind, immediately stopped the bike and moved his wife and child to a safe distance. Before they could ascertain the cause, flames erupted from the bike, and within moments, the entire vehicle was engulfed in fire.

The sight of the burning bike in the middle of the road brought traffic to a halt, and a large crowd gathered at the spot. Local shopkeepers and passersby came forward to help. People managed to extinguish the fire after considerable effort using water. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but it is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit or fuel leak. No casualties were reported in the incident, averting a major disaster.
