A local leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) was shot by unknown assailants in Begusarai district, leaving him in critical condition. The incident occurred on Wednesday night when the leader was approximately 400 meters from his home. Three बाइक-borne criminals surrounded him and opened fire indiscriminately.

According to police sources, the RJD leader sustained bullet injuries to his waist and shoulder. He was immediately rushed to a local hospital, where after initial treatment, he was referred to Patna for better medical care due to his serious condition. His condition is currently reported to be critical.

Eyewitnesses at the scene stated that the criminals fled swiftly after committing the act. The police have launched an immediate investigation into the serious matter. Officers arrived at the crime scene, conducted an inquiry, and attempted to gather crucial clues. Police are scrutinizing CCTV footage from the surrounding areas to identify the culprits.

The motive behind the attack is still unclear. Police are investigating all possible angles, including personal enmity, old rivalries, or political vendetta. RJD workers and local residents have expressed deep anger over the incident, demanding that the police arrest the perpetrators as soon as possible and ensure they receive severe punishment. The police have assured that the criminals will not be spared and will soon be brought to justice.
