The Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) office in Benipatti block, Madhubani district, has been operating for years in a decades-old, severely dilapidated two-story building. Located near the block-cum-circle office, the structure poses a significant risk to its employees. Officials and staff are compelled to carry out their duties in this crumbling building, literally putting their lives at risk.

The building's condition is extremely poor, with deterioration from top to bottom, rendering it unsafe for occupancy. Despite this, meetings for Anganwadi workers and other departmental programs are regularly held in this hazardous environment. The building was originally constructed decades ago as part of the Kala-azar eradication program, when the Benipatti block area faced a severe outbreak of the disease. It was intended for the prevention and treatment of Kala-azar patients.

Local residents and staff are urging the administration to address this critical issue and provide a safe and suitable location for the CDPO office. This would ensure that employees can work without fear and that government services can be delivered efficiently and safely.
