A tragic incident has unfolded in Bettiah district, where three schoolgirls fell into a deep pond while on their way to school. The accident resulted in the death of a 12-year-old girl, while two others were fortunately rescued by vigilant villagers. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the district and raised concerns among locals regarding safety.

According to reports, the three students were heading to their school as usual. While passing by a pond on their route, they suddenly lost their balance and all three plunged into the deep water. Hearing their cries for help, villagers working in nearby fields rushed to the scene. Without wasting any time, the villagers initiated rescue operations and, after strenuous efforts, managed to pull two of the girls to safety. However, the third student, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, could not be saved and drowned in the deep water.

The villagers immediately informed the local police. A police team arrived at the spot, and with the help of divers, the body of the deceased student was recovered from the pond.
