Bettiah police have achieved a significant breakthrough in their fight against drug trafficking, seizing 1.24 quintals of ganja and arresting two traffickers. Acting on a confidential tip-off, law enforcement officers intercepted a Bolero vehicle suspected of transporting a large consignment of the illicit substance.

The operation was initiated after police received intelligence about a substantial quantity of ganja being moved via a Bolero. Responding swiftly, a police team set up checkpoints in the Bettiah area. During a routine vehicle inspection, the suspicious Bolero was stopped and thoroughly searched. The search led to the discovery of 1.24 quintals of ganja, estimated to be worth several lakhs in the market.

Authorities apprehended two individuals from the scene who were involved in the smuggling operation. Interrogations are currently underway to identify other members of the drug trafficking network and dismantle their operations. The Superintendent of Police stated that this successful raid is part of an ongoing special drive against drug peddling in the district, reiterating the administration's commitment to eradicating the drug trade and ensuring strict action against traffickers. Further investigations are ongoing, with potential for more arrests.
