A 35-year-old land dispute in Bhagalpur district escalated into a violent confrontation, involving a fierce clash and alleged firing between two factions. The incident also includes an accusation of a gold chain worth one lakh rupees being snatched. This long-standing dispute occurred in Tintanga Karari village, under the Gopalpur police station area of Naugachhia sub-division.

According to reports, the conflict revolves around a piece of land disputed since 1988. On Sunday morning around 9 AM, members of one party arrived to work on their land when they were confronted by the other party. A heated argument quickly devolved into a physical altercation, with eyewitnesses reporting the use of sticks, batons, and stones. The situation escalated further with both sides allegedly resorting to firing, causing panic in the area.

The aggrieved party has accused the other side of snatching a gold chain worth one lakh rupees during the scuffle. Upon receiving information, Gopalpur police station personnel reached the spot and brought the situation under control. Police have initiated an investigation, questioning both parties. Authorities have stated that they are verifying the claims of firing and looting and assure strict action against the culprits. Tensions remain high in the village, and police presence has been increased to prevent further untoward incidents.
