A tragic road accident in Bhojpur district, Bihar, claimed the life of Indian Navy jawan Mukesh Kumar (32) on Monday evening. The incident occurred on the Ara-Chandi road, between Jamira and Chandi Chowk, when an unidentified speeding vehicle collided with his motorcycle. Mukesh Kumar was on leave at his native village, Englishpur, under Dhobaha police station.

According to reports, Mukesh Kumar, who was posted in Mumbai, had come home on October 2nd for his leave and was scheduled to return to duty on October 23rd. However, due to his father-in-law Mahendra Singh's kidney ailment and ongoing dialysis treatment, Mukesh was on his way to Kosihan village in Chandi police station area to bring his father-in-law on Monday evening. It was during this journey that an unknown vehicle struck his motorcycle on the Ara-Chandi road.

Mukesh sustained severe injuries in the accident. A Dial 112 police team was transporting him to Sadar Hospital for treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries en route. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the accident. Mukesh was the elder of two brothers; his younger brother, Vimlesh Kumar, also serves in the Navy and is stationed in Mumbai.

Mukesh is survived by his mother Asturna Devi, wife Neha Kumari, and two young sons, Prateek and Pratyush. The family is in deep shock and grief, with his wife and mother inconsolable. The entire village is saddened by the loss, as two innocent children have lost their father. Police are searching for the driver of the unidentified vehicle.
