In a tragic incident in Bhojpur district, two brothers sustained severe burn injuries due to electrocution. The incident occurred in the Chandi police station area when the brothers were returning home to Salempur village in a pickup truck after purchasing a buffalo from an animal fair in Chhapra.

The injured have been identified as 45-year-old Nandbeshwar Singh and 35-year-old Akhilesh Singh, sons of Rajeshwar Singh, residents of Salempur village. On Saturday, while heading towards their home, their pickup truck got entangled in a dilapidated electric wire. As soon as the wire got stuck, the entire vehicle became electrified.

Akhilesh Singh got out of the vehicle to remove the wire, but it came into contact with his hand, causing him to be electrocuted and convulse. Seeing his younger brother in distress, Nandbeshwar Singh rushed to save him but also received a powerful shock, throwing him to the ground. The accident caused panic among onlookers.

With the help of local residents and family members, both brothers were somehow separated from the electric contact. They were immediately rushed to Ara Sadar Hospital for treatment, where they are currently under the care of doctors. The buffalo they had purchased also suffered an electric shock during the incident.

Nandbeshwar Singh alleged that farmers have taken illegal connections from dilapidated electric wires, leading to frequent accidents of this nature. He accused the electricity department of negligence, stating that no concrete action is taken by the department to address the issue.
