Kushinagar (Khadda). Following recent floods in Nepal and the potential for increased water flow in the Gandak-Narayani River, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary visited Valmiki Nagar on Thursday. He conducted a thorough inspection of the Valmiki Nagar Barrage, assessing the river's water flow, the condition of the gates, and the drainage system.

At the control room, the Chief Minister held a meeting with officials, gathering detailed information on the current water level of the river, the volume of water flowing from Nepal, and the discharge from the barrage. Chief Minister Chaudhary instructed officials to maintain continuous and vigilant monitoring of the river's water levels and barrage operations. He also directed them to remain fully alert for immediate action in any emergency situation.

Samrat Chaudhary stated that the Trishuli tragedy in Nepal was devastating and that all related circumstances are being closely monitored. It is noteworthy that the Gandak River enters the border areas of Uttar Pradesh from the Valmikinagar Barrage. Therefore, the Chief Minister's inspection is considered highly significant for the potential flood situation in the riparian areas of Uttar Pradesh.
