A shocking incident has emerged from Idgah Tola Gerua village, Bhawanipur Panchayat, under the Amour police station area in Purnia district, where a mother is accused of killing her one-month-old infant son. It is alleged that the woman repeatedly slammed the child onto the ground, leading to his death. The incident has caused a stir throughout the area.

Upon receiving information, the police promptly arrived at the scene, took custody of the body, and sent it to Purnia GMCH for post-mortem examination. Following the incident, enraged locals apprehended the accused woman and, after assaulting her, handed her over to the police. Villagers had also tied the woman to a tree in the village to prevent her from harming anyone else.

The deceased child's father, Mohammad Ashraf Ansari, informed the police that he was not at home around 4 PM on Tuesday. During his absence, his wife allegedly killed their one-month-old child by repeatedly slamming him on the ground and then discarded the body in a paddy field near their house. Upon Mohammad Ashraf's return, his wife herself confessed to killing the child and throwing the body in the field.

The husband also told the police that his wife's behavior had been abnormal prior to the incident. He recounted that on Tuesday morning, while he was sleeping, his wife bit his hand, injuring him. She had also previously attacked him on the head with a stick. During interrogation, the accused woman reportedly told the police and locals that she doesn't act on her own, but rather a 'devil' makes her do these things. The police are currently investigating the matter seriously. Claims have been made by the family regarding the woman's mental state, but whether she is truly mentally unstable will only become clear after investigation and medical examination. The police are gathering detailed information about the causes and the entire sequence of events.
