पटना जिले के बिहटा थाना क्षेत्र में एक दर्दनाक सड़क हादसे में एक अधेड़ व्यक्ति की मौत हो गई, जिसके बाद ग्रामीणों का गुस्सा भड़क उठा। घटना सोमवार रात की है जब बिहटा-मनेर मुख्य मार्ग पर एक तेज रफ्तार ट्रक ने 50 वर्षीय व्यक्ति को कुचल दिया। मृतक की पहचान बिहटा निवासी वीरेंद्र राय के रूप में हुई है।
प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों के अनुसार, वीरेंद्र राय सड़क पार कर रहे थे तभी बिहटा की ओर से आ रहे अनियंत्रित ट्रक ने उन्हें अपनी चपेट में ले लिया। टक्कर इतनी भीषण थी कि मौके पर ही उनकी मौत हो गई। घटना के बाद ट्रक चालक वाहन छोड़कर भागने की कोशिश कर रहा था, लेकिन स्थानीय लोगों ने उसे पकड़ लिया।
इस घटना से आक्रोशित ग्रामीणों ने तत्काल सड़क जाम कर दिया और ट्रक में आग लगा दी। आगजनी की सूचना मिलते ही बिहटा थाना पुलिस मौके पर पहुंची। पुलिस ने ग्रामीणों को शांत कराने का प्रयास किया, लेकिन वे मुआवजे और लापरवाह ड्राइवर के खिलाफ कड़ी कार्रवाई की मांग पर अड़े रहे। स्थिति को नियंत्रित करने के लिए अतिरिक्त पुलिस बल को बुलाया गया।
पुलिस ने ट्रक चालक को हिरासत में ले लिया है और उससे पूछताछ की जा रही है। ग्रामीणों का आरोप है कि चालक नशे की हालत में था और इसी वजह से उसने नियंत्रण खो दिया। पुलिस ने शव को कब्जे में लेकर पोस्टमार्टम के लिए भेज दिया है। इस घटना के कारण बिहटा-मनेर मुख्य मार्ग पर कुछ देर के लिए यातायात बाधित रहा। पुलिस ने आश्वासन दिया है कि मामले की गहनता से जांच की जाएगी और दोषियों के खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
