Patna: The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has included six members from Bihar in its national executive, with four belonging to upper castes. One member is from the Kushwaha community and another from the Yadav community. These appointments are seen as an effort to balance caste equations alongside merit.

It is believed that the BJP is treading carefully after its defeat in the Bankipur assembly constituency in Patna, attributed to the displeasure of upper-caste voters. The party is actively seeking opportunities to appease upper castes. Recently, policy decisions were made to streamline EWS reservations, and in the ongoing Bihar Legislative Council elections, the BJP has fielded upper-caste candidates on two of its four contested seats.

The new BJYM team includes Raj Rajendra Singh (Rajput) from Sitab Diyara, Saran district, as National Vice President. Maithili Thakur (Brahmin) from Mithilanchal has been appointed as an executive member, and Rahul Jha (Brahmin) as National Secretary. Manavendra Chauhan (Rajput) from Munger district has been made National Social Media Co-in-charge. Earlier, in June 2026, Jitendra Singh (Rajput) was appointed Bihar BJP Yuva Morcha state president. These appointments reflect the BJP's strategy to strengthen its political presence by ensuring significant representation for upper castes within its youth wing.

The backward classes have also been considered. Himanshu Yadav from Nalanda district has been appointed National Media In-charge, and Vineet Kushwaha from East Champaran as a National Executive Member. Himanshu Yadav is skilled in media management and has been associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. Vineet Kushwaha has been part of the Bihar Yuva Morcha's media wing and is known as 'Engineer Vineet Kushwaha' on social media. Their inclusion aims to convey that ordinary workers from humble backgrounds are also respected within BJP-affiliated organizations.

Beyond social equations, merit and experience have also been given importance in these appointments. Raj Rajendra Singh is a law graduate and has served as Vice President of the Yuva Morcha's Bihar organization. Rahul Jha has also worked in Bihar Yuva Morcha and is adept at presenting logical arguments on political issues. Maithili Thakur is a renowned singer and youth icon, while Manavendra Chauhan has served as ABVP president and has a strong grip on social media.
