In a surprising turn of events in Bochahan, Muzaffarpur, Rs 6.54 lakh in cash was recovered from an auto-rickshaw that met with an accident on Tuesday. The auto-rickshaw overturned after losing control, attracting a crowd of locals who attempted to right the vehicle. During this process, they discovered a bag containing a large sum of cash inside the auto.

Upon receiving information, the Bochahan police station chief arrived at the scene with his team. The police seized both the auto and the recovered cash. Neither the auto driver nor the owner could produce any valid documents pertaining to the money. Consequently, an FIR has been registered against an unknown person due to the lack of legitimate paperwork.

The seriousness of the matter has led the police to hand over the recovered cash and related information to the Income Tax Department. The IT department will now conduct a thorough investigation to ascertain the ownership, source, and legality of the funds, including any potential tax evasion or illicit activities.
