A large pothole near the Bajrangbali Temple at Bounsi Nagar Panchayat's main chowk in Banka district has finally been filled. This repair work was completed on Wednesday evening, just before the Shravani Mela, thanks to the initiative of social worker Ronak Afroz. Two tractors of dust were used to level the pit, providing significant relief to pedestrians and vehicle drivers.

According to local residents, this pothole was causing daily accidents involving auto-rickshaws, motorcycles, and other small vehicles. Despite several news reports and public demands for prompt repairs from the administration, no action was taken for a long time. Consequently, local citizens contacted social worker Ronak Afroz and informed him of the problem.

After the repair work was completed, local residents praised Ronak Afroz, stating that his initiative resolved a long-standing issue and would now provide great convenience to those passing through the main chowk. People also commented that the administration should have carried out this work earlier.

Local citizens also expressed concerns regarding the preparations for the Shravani Mela. They highlighted that the road condition from Maharana to Bhaljor remains poor, and electricity supply is not properly maintained in several places. Thousands of Kanwariyas and Dak Bams travel through this route to Baba Basukinath Dham during the Shravani Mela. Residents have urged the District Magistrate to repair this road and ensure proper electricity arrangements along the entire route before the Mela, to facilitate safe and smooth travel for devotees.
