BRA Bihar University Receives Applications for 29 New Colleges, Total 44 Proposals
Muzaffarpur, Principal Correspondent. BRA Bihar University (BRABU) has received a total of 44 applications for opening new colleges. Among these, 15 colleges have applied for permanent affiliation, while 29 colleges are seeking affiliation from the university for the first time. The state government recently opened a portal inviting applications for new colleges, leading to these proposals being submitted to the university.
Currently, 176 colleges are affiliated with BRABU. Following the receipt of new applications, the university will conduct a thorough investigation. Colleges must meet the prescribed standards during this verification process. Subsequently, these proposals will be presented before the Affiliation Committee, then the Syndicate, and finally the Senate meetings. After approval from all these bodies, the final affiliation proposal will be sent to the state government.
Last year, BRABU had also sent some college applications, approved by the Senate, to the government. However, the government initiated a re-investigation into them. Orders were issued to the district administration to inspect the land of these colleges. Delays in this inspection prevented these colleges from receiving recognition for the 2026-30 session.
Meanwhile, preparations have begun for the meetings of the Affiliation Committee, Syndicate, and Senate at BRABU. According to sources, the Syndicate meeting is expected this month, and the Senate meeting in November. Annual reports have been requested from all PG departments and colleges for the Senate meeting.
