Residents, devotees, and commuters in Buxar are facing severe difficulties due to daily traffic jams on Ramrekha Ghat Road, a route of historical and religious significance. This busy road frequently comes to a standstill several times a day, leading to long queues of vehicles and problems even for pedestrians.

The primary cause of these jams is the rampant encroachment on both sides of the road, stretching from the main entrance of Ramrekha Ghat to Veer Kunwar Singh Chowk. Shopkeepers place stalls on footpaths and display goods outside their shops, narrowing the road. Additionally, people haphazardly park their bikes and other vehicles along the roadside, obstructing traffic flow on an already congested street.

Local residents, including Ramjanm Pandey, Suresh Prasad, and Sanjay Singh, reported that despite multiple attempts by the Nagar Parishad to remove encroachments, the problem persists due to a lack of regular monitoring and strict enforcement. Encroachers reclaim the space almost immediately after being cleared.

Locals also point out that several senior district officials use this road regularly, and the Nagar Police Station is located nearby. Despite this, effective measures to curb encroachment and illegal parking have not been implemented. Residents have urged the administration to ensure regular surveillance and take strict action against violators to find a permanent solution to this persistent issue.
