Police are investigating a property dispute angle, among other aspects, in the case of two youths whose bodies were found stuffed in sacks in a minor canal in Chandauli. The deceased have been identified as Siddharth Singh (34) from Ghazipur and Sagar Tripathi (36) from Kanpur. Police are thoroughly examining the property dispute angle after learning that Siddharth owned ancestral land and property in his native village. According to information, Siddharth Singh was a resident of Barhpur in Nandganj police station area of Ghazipur district, while Sagar Tripathi was from Yashoda Nagar in Naubasta police station area of Kanpur. Both were close friends and had left Kanpur about three days ago, reportedly for a trip to Varanasi. Police are trying to piece together how they reached Dedhgaon in Chandauli and the circumstances of their deaths. Initial information suggests that Siddharth had come to Medhan village in Dhanapur police station area to meet his paternal cousin, who is married there.

Based on information about Siddharth's ancestral land and property, police are investigating the possibility of a property dispute. In this context, the name of Siddharth's cousin's brother-in-law, Ravi Singh, has also come under scrutiny. Police are using mobile surveillance to investigate individuals connected to the incident and the contacts of the two youths. There are also reports, unconfirmed officially, that a youth deployed in a central security agency took leave and committed the crime. The Crime Branch team has detained four youths from Ghazipur for questioning over the past two days. Police are gathering information about the activities of the two youths, their contacts, and their route to the crime scene.
