The second grand conference of the Chapota community was held on Sunday in Bausi block of Banka district. The primary objective of this conference was to discuss the upliftment of the community and address an eight-point charter of demands. Representatives and members of the community united to voice their concerns.

The most prominent demand of the Chapota community is their inclusion in the Scheduled Caste (SC) list. Community leaders stated that they have been struggling for this demand for a long time without success. They argue that the Chapota community is socially and economically backward and deprived of the benefits available under the Scheduled Caste category. This deprivation significantly hinders their children's access to education and employment opportunities.

Extensive discussions were also held on the other eight demands. These included the right to education, access to health facilities, increased employment opportunities, land allocation for landless families, prevention of atrocities against the community, women's empowerment, and skill development programs for youth. Speakers emphasized that holistic development of the community is impossible without fulfilling these demands and appealed to the government to consider and implement them promptly.

Many dignitaries, intellectuals, and a large number of members were present. All pledged to work together for the community's upliftment and continue their struggle. It was also decided to prepare a memorandum detailing these demands for submission to relevant government departments and representatives. Community leaders warned of intensifying their movement if their demands are not addressed soon.
