A passenger shelter under construction at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Chhaurahi block headquarters, Begusarai district, remains incomplete even after seven years. The project, initiated in the financial year 2019-20 with funds from the Panchayat Samiti, had an estimated cost of Rs 16,12,300. Due to the incomplete construction, the building has not been put into use to date.

The primary objective of this passenger shelter was to provide seating and resting facilities for patients, their attendants visiting the hospital, and individuals coming to nearby government offices such as the block office, circle office, police station, and BRC. However, seven years on, these facilities are still unavailable, causing significant inconvenience to people traveling from remote areas.

The unfinished structure is now surrounded by overgrown bushes and wild vegetation, posing a risk of snakes and scorpions. While the basic framework of the building is in place, it is not fit for use, raising concerns about its safety and utility. This situation stands as a clear example of government apathy, while patients continue to lack proper seating arrangements.
