The results of the Bankipur Assembly by-election, held on July 30, were declared on August 3, revealing a significant defeat for the BJP in what was considered its stronghold. Following this outcome, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) President Chirag Paswan has given his first reaction, openly admitting that a lack of coordination within the alliance was clearly visible in the election results.

Responding to media queries, Chirag Paswan stated, "Certainly, there could have been better coordination between the organization and all the alliances here. We could have presented our issues more effectively." He also attributed the defeat to the Gen-Z movement, saying, "The way an atmosphere was created in the country regarding Gen-Z, its impact was somewhere seen in the election." Paswan added that there were several other reasons for the loss.

Paswan's statement sheds light on the internal tensions within the NDA alliance, suggesting a lack of expected coordination among coalition partners regarding the by-election. Although he did not directly name Prashant Kishor, who won the Bankipur by-election, Kishor, contesting for the first time, secured a victory, maintaining a lead in every round from the beginning, while BJP candidate Neeraj Sinha remained in second place.

When asked if the BJP's defeat reflected on the party's nationwide image, Chirag Paswan asserted, "One result does not reflect the image of the entire country." He expressed confidence that the NDA is poised to form strong governments in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh and Punjab elections.
