Purnia, Dhamdaha. On Sunday, the first day of Shardiya Navratri, Kalash Sthapana was performed with the worship of Maa Shailputri at the Public Durga Temple, Nehru Chowk, Dhamdaha. The puja rituals were completed amidst Vedic chants. Earlier, Nagar Panchayat Dhamdaha's Chief Councillor Rani Devi, Deputy Chief Councillor Meena Kumari, and Sub-Divisional Officer Anupam Kumar jointly cut the ribbon to inaugurate the Durga Puja and Dussehra fair. A large crowd of devotees gathered at the temple premises during the inauguration.

The puja committee members informed that this year, a grand puja pandal has been constructed based on the theme of the Kedarnath Temple, which is expected to be a major attraction. Various types of swings and other entertainment facilities are being arranged to make the fair appealing. Preparations for the Ravana Vadh program are also underway. Grand cultural programs will be organized on October 19, 20, and 21.

According to the puja committee, special attention will be given to the convenience of devotees visiting for worship every morning and evening. Separate barricades have been set up for the entry of male and female devotees. A large number of committee volunteers will be deployed to control the crowd and maintain order. Shops selling sweets, bangles, and other items are also being set up within the temple premises. As part of security arrangements, CCTV cameras have been installed at the puja site and surrounding sensitive areas. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Durga Puja and Mela organizing committee president Manish Kumar Singh, along with other dignitaries and committee members.
