A culvert located on the canal near Pranpur Dam, situated on the Khiriyawan to Chei Nawada road in Madanpur block, is currently in a highly dilapidated state. The safety railings of the culvert are completely broken, posing a constant risk to the lives of pedestrians and motorists passing through. Local residents fear that even a slight lapse in attention could lead to a major accident.

According to villagers, this road is a vital link in the area, used daily by hundreds of people. The absence of safety railings on both sides of the culvert significantly increases the risk of accidents, especially at night and during the rainy season. Furthermore, the lack of any protective fencing along the dam's edge forces people to travel in fear.

Residents revealed that this is not a new problem. Several years ago, a person died after falling near this very culvert. Despite this, neither the administration nor the concerned department has taken any concrete steps to address the issue. The broken railings and unsafe dam edge continue to invite major accidents.

Local people have urged the district administration and the relevant department to immediately repair the culvert's railings and erect safety fencing along the dam. They warn that if necessary measures are not taken promptly, a serious accident could occur in the future. Villagers hope that the administration will prioritize this grave concern and take swift action to ensure the safety of the local population and prevent potential mishaps.
