In Ballia, a Labrador dog sacrificed its life to save its owner's family from a venomous cobra. The incident occurred around 2 AM on Sunday night in Ubhanv village, under the Belthara Road area. Danish, who runs a brick kiln, lived with his family and had a Labrador named Tommy for the past eight years.

Late Sunday night, a cobra attempted to enter Danish's house. Tommy was the first to spot the cobra and began barking incessantly, waking Danish and his family. During this, the cobra attacked Tommy, and Tommy retaliated, engaging in a fierce battle. The intense struggle between the dog and the snake lasted for approximately an hour, with family members witnessing and even video-recording the fight.

Throughout the confrontation, the cobra bit Tommy multiple times, but Tommy did not give up and eventually managed to kill the cobra. However, about half an hour after defeating the snake, the cobra's venom rapidly took its toll on Tommy's body, and he also succumbed. The family believes that if Tommy had not shown such bravery, the snake could have entered the house and bitten anyone. Tommy, by giving his life, ensured the safety of the entire family.

Tommy had been a beloved member of the family for eight years. His death has left every family member deeply saddened. On Monday, the family tearfully bid farewell to Tommy, with many members becoming emotional during his burial.
