A 50-year-old farmer, identified as Lalan Singh, drowned and went missing in a river on Tuesday afternoon in Walipur village, under Pipariya police station in the Suryagarha assembly constituency of Lakhisarai district. Lalan Singh, son of the late Ramashray Singh, had gone towards the river near his field when he suddenly fell into the water.

Upon receiving information about the incident, villagers and Pipariya police immediately reached the spot and launched a search operation. Local residents and the police searched extensively until late evening, but no trace of him was found. The strong current in the river is making the search operation challenging.

Pipariya Station House Officer (SHO) Saurabh Suman confirmed the incident, stating that the search for the missing farmer is ongoing, but his body has not yet been recovered. He has informed the concerned Sub-Divisional Officer and requested the deployment of an SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) team. The SDRF team stationed in Barahiya has also been notified to reach the site, with hopes of accelerating the search effort.

Following the incident, Lalan Singh's family is in deep distress. Villagers are also present along the riverbank, hoping for his safe return. The police are continuously monitoring the situation and taking necessary action.
