Consumers in the district are facing significant inconvenience due to a severe fuel shortage at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) petrol pumps. According to reports, 16 out of the 22 HPCL petrol pumps in the district have run out of fuel. This situation has persisted for several days, forcing vehicle owners and other consumers to seek fuel from petrol pumps of other companies.

The primary reason cited for this supply crisis is a disruption in the supply of oil from the company's depot. Sources indicate that an insufficient quantity of fuel is being transported from the depot, leading to most HPCL pumps in the district running dry. The impact is particularly severe on pumps in rural and semi-urban areas, where limited alternatives are exacerbating the difficulties for residents.

Petrol pump operators state that they are in continuous contact with the depot but have not received satisfactory responses. Many pump owners have reported having no stock for the past 2-3 days and are forced to turn away customers. This situation is not only causing inconvenience to consumers but also resulting in significant financial losses for petrol pump operators.

HPCL management needs to take immediate steps to address this crisis and restore normal fuel supply in the district. Consumers are demanding that the company resume supply as soon as possible and implement robust measures to prevent such situations in the future.
