The Naokothi police in Begusarai district have arrested Gulshan Kumar, an accused in a liquor prohibition case, who had been absconding for the past four months. He has been sent to judicial custody. The arrested accused has been identified as Gulshan Kumar, son of Anil Kumar Singh, a resident of Chhatouna.

Station House Officer (SHO) Mohammad Firdaus stated that on May 19, police had recovered 32 cartons of foreign liquor from a pickup truck loaded with hay near Central Bank in Chhatouna. An FIR was registered at Naokothi police station under the liquor prohibition law in this regard. During the police investigation, Gulshan Kumar's involvement in the case came to light. He had been evading arrest since the FIR was lodged.

The police were continuously raiding possible hideouts to apprehend him. In this sequence, on Thursday, the police received confidential information that the named accused was present in Khagaria. Based on this information, a police team swiftly raided and arrested him from Khagaria. The SHO informed that after completing the legal procedures, the arrested accused was presented in court and subsequently sent to judicial custody. Sub-Inspector Praveen Kumar and other police personnel were part of the arrest operation. The police are continuously conducting campaigns against illegal liquor trade and smuggling.
